This beautiful contemporary square leg farmhouse dining table is made from 'proper' full stave rustic grade oak and allowed a natural finish.
The quality of full-stave oak is not to be confused with the slim pieces of finger-jointed oak found at large oak furniture outlets. The best full-stave oak is the only oak we'd use for our dining tables, and the wide strips run the full length of the table.
The rustic grade offers a unique finish, leaving in pitted knots and the odd crack here and there for an aged farmhouse appeal. These characteristics are merely cosmetic as the wood will last you a lifetime, as it's constructed from chunky 38mm thick oak.
You can alternatively opt for the splits and open knots to be filled with a black wood filler, giving the impression of the imperfect but allowing for a smooth finish.
